Liz and Craig reached out and asked me to photograph their Revolution Brewing wedding way back in February 2020. You know, an entire lifetime ago.
*Insert COVID postponements and a backyard Zoom ceremony here*
In November 2021, these two finally got to have the wedding reception of their dreams. Or, as they put it in that initial inquiry, “a simple wedding that represents us as a couple, including good food, great music, and close friends and family.”
Getting Ready at Home
My favorite way to make a wedding day personal? Get ready at home. In this case, Liz and the girls got ready in their apartment while Craig and the guys got ready upstairs in their building’s common space.Once everyone was dressed in their wedding day best, Liz snuck upstairs for a first look with Craig on their rooftop.
Downtown Chicago Wedding Photos
When it came time to pick photo locations, Liz and Craig knew they wanted some classic Chicago spots that were different from their engagement session. So, we opted for photos near Wolf Point and the classic Chicago mural in Logan Square.
Revolution Brewing Wedding
I loved that Liz and Craig managed to keep the wedding decor simple but unique. Case in point: instead of numbers, their favorite albums acted as “table numbers”. And their guestbook? Well, since D.A.N.C.E was playing when they first met, they had everyone sign a Justice album.
^^ Personal touches don’t get better than that, my friends.
It helps that Rev Brewing’s Brewer’s Lounge is full of classic Chicago loft vibes. It created the perfect atmosphere for their main priorities (food, music, and loved ones) to shine.
