Hey, I'm Chelsea.

I'm a Chicago wedding photographer and videographer who's on a mission to take the stress out of wedding planning, one anecdote, gif, and movie
quote at a time.

When brainstorming engagement session locations, Geno and Moira requested “skyline view, park/nature, and art murals – is that too many?”

While it sounds like too many ideas at once, I knew just the spots to check off all those vibe boxes.

We started the session in West Loop—the neighborhood Geno + Moira call home. After scoping out a few colorful murals, we hopped in their Jeep and made our way to Lincoln Park’s South Pond.

Lincoln Park’s Nature Boardwalk is a go-to spot for engagement photos. It’s a wildflower oasis with some of the best skyline views in the city. Don’t believe me? Keep scrollin’ and see for yourself.

Lincoln Park Nature Boardwalk

Permit

You don’t need a permit to take photos along the South Pond, but you should note that the Honeycomb (officially named the Peoples Gas Education Pavilion) may be reserved for a private event.

Parking

You can park for free anywhere along N. Stockton Drive or park on the south end of the Lincoln Park Zoo Lot.

The thing I love most about Geno and Moira’s session? It’s a perfect example of how you don’t need a bright golden hour for some gorgeous, personality-packed photos. Because—hot take—I think the skyline from South Pond’s bridge looks 100 times better on overcast days. I said what I said.

All in all, I had an absolute blast hanging out with these two. I can’t wait to show you the photos from their fall wedding at Moonlight Studios! Until then, feel free to reach out if you want to schedule some engagement photos of your own at Lincoln Park Nature Boardwalk!
