Today I’ve got another peek at another gorgeous wedding I second shot alongside Ed and Aileen Photography.
At risk of sounding like a broken record: COVID threw a lot of wedding plans for a loop. But this Artifact Events wedding reception is proof that you can always throw the wedding of your dreams—even if you’re already married.
We kicked things off at Hotel Zachary—my favorite hotel on the north side of Chicago. It’s got large, spacious suites with floor-to-ceiling windows. I love it for the natural light. Baseball fans love it for the views of Wrigley Field. It’s a win-win, overall.
Wedding Photos around Artifact Events
After a first look in one of the hotel suites, everybody made their way over to Artifact Events for some portraits. While Aileen got the classic wedding party photos, I had the fun task of documenting the little details + in-between moments that happen during wedding photos.
A Romantic Artifact Events Reception
Since these two got married on their original wedding date (exactly 1 year earlier), they decided to completely skip a formal ceremony and jump straight into party mode.
After sipping on margaritas in Artifact Events’ outdoor courtyard, everyone made their way to the North side’s atrium for dinner. I love how they really played up the romantic, moody vibes of the atrium’s lower level. From the hanging floral wall to the centerpieces, every single gorgeous detail set the mood.
A Wedding Reception Moonlighting as a Personal Concert
After dinner wrapped up, everyone was invited out to Artifact Event’s atrium for dancing.
I’ll say it once and I’ll say it again: nothing fills up a dance floor faster than a live band. Especially when that live band is Rod Tuffcurls & the Bench Press.
